2010 Miss Richmond

Miss Richmond Laura Lynn Lavely is a graduate of the Class of 2010 Richmond High School. She is a very motivated and confident young woman who resides in Richmond, Mi with her family. Laura is an active member on the Youth Board at the AUD, Regional Youth Complex in Richmond and also volunteers her time at various community events through out the year. She will be attending Western Michigan University this fall majoring in Musical Theatre with her sites set on performing on Broadway.
When asked what it means for her to be Miss Richmond, Laura replied that she would love to be a role model for the youth of the community; she feels that younger kids today have a lot of pressure to grow up to fast. She would like to show them that there are other ways to feel accepted and that morals are an important part of who we are as people. She wants to make an active effort in collaboration with other organizations in the community, such as the AUD, to get kids involved in proactive events and also in their community.
Miss Richmond’s Court is 1st runner up is Cathrine Trautman, who will be a senior this fall at Richmond High School and 2nd runner up Anna Dunkelburg, who is also a graduate of the Class of 2010 Richmond High School, Anna will be attending Central Michigan University this fall double majoring in Business Administration and Political Science with her sites set at becoming a Lawyer.
All three girls are wearing dresses from Marcile's Fashions in Richmond.

Little Miss Richmond Rules
Please Read the Rules Carefully and pick up your application at the Lois Wagner Memorial Library and the Richmond Community Center on August 2nd and must be returned by the deadline date of Friday, August 27th to the library, Community Center or Lorie Rix.
- Contestants must live in the Richmond School District full time and be in kindergarten or first grade. Your daughter is eligible to enter a maximum of two years.
- Girls must wear an appropriate Good Old Days dress or outfit. Hats, sunbonnets or dust caps may be worn but should not hide the face. Umbrellas are not permitted!! Elaborate gowns are not encouraged.
- Contestants are to be at the stage in Beebe Park at 6:45 pm the night of opening ceremonies, Thursday. They must be dressed and ready to go. Please be sure that your child has had a trip to the bathroom just before you leave. She may stay with you after registration until she is called to the stage.
- The girls will parade and be asked simple questions by The Mistress of Ceremonies.
- All contestants are invited and encouraged to ride in the Children's Parade on Saturday. The float will be provided by the committee. Parents are responsible for getting their child to the beginning of the parade route and to pick her up immediately after the parade. The parade ends near Carl's Electric.
- Little Miss and her court will participate in both the Children's Parade and the Grand Parade on Sunday.
- The winner's parents should be prepared to accompany their child to all scheduled events of the weekend. It will be their responsibility to see that their daughter gets to the events on time. A schedule will be provided following the closing of the contest. Good Old Days Festival is not Liable for any injuries incurred.
- The Little Miss and court will be given prize money to spend at the carnival grounds over the weekend. They should wear their banners as much as possible during the weekend. Each contestant will receive a small gift the night of the contest. A crown is given to just the Little Miss. The crown awarded by the G.O.D. Committee is the crown that should be worn at all activities she is asked to attend. Only the Little Miss is allowed to wear a crown at Good Old Days events.
- The selection of the Little Miss and her court will be done after each contestant has had a chance to answer her question. The Judges will then take the names of the top five scores and put them in a container. Then, One by One, the names will be drawn deciding the Little Miss and her court. The last name drawn will be the new Little Miss. They are all Beautiful and the committee has decided this to be the fairest way. The event is not a competition, but meant to be fun and memorable. They are all winners. All receive a small gift and are encouraged to ride in the Children's Parade on the Float.
