2011 Miss Richmond

Miss Richmond Allison Anargyros is a graduate of the Class of 2011 Richmond High School. She is a very motivated and confident young woman who resides in Richmond, Mi with her family. Allison is currently employed at Chili’s as a Hostess. She will be attending Grand Valley University this fall majoring in Radiation Therapy with her sites set on becoming a Radiation Therapist helping Cancer Patients.

When Allison is not going to work or school, she volunteers her time supporting Michigan Military Moms, UNICEF, Habitat for Humanity projects and volunteering at food drives as well as making dolls for terminally ill children at Children’s Hospital. 

When asked what it means to her to be Miss Richmond, Allison replied that she felt that Miss Richmond is someone who is very admirable and a prime role model to many in our community. With her hard work and dedication she believes that she will be a good representative of the City of Richmond and Richmond Good Old Days Festival based on her volunteering in the community and her commitment to education and life experiences.

Miss Richmond’s Court is Melana Fenwick, a graduate of the Class of 2011 Richmond High School, Melana will be attending Oakland University majoring in Physical Therapy.  Donna-June Pankiewicz, a 2011 graduate Beit Simchah Homeschool, Donna-June will be attending St. Clair Community College in the fall majoring in Nursing.

Little Miss Richmond Rules
20th Little Miss Richmond applications will be available on Monday August Ist at the Lowis Wagner Library and the Richmond Community Center. Deadline to turn in application will be Wednesday, August 31st. Rules will be included with application. Girls must be entering Kindergarten or First Grade and live full time in the Richmond School District. Any questions pleasec call: Lorie Rix, Chairman 586-727-7795.
  1. Contestants must live in the Richmond School District full time and be in kindergarten or first grade. Your daughter is eligible to enter a maximum of two years.
  2. Girls must wear an appropriate Good Old Days dress or outfit. Hats, sunbonnets or dust caps may be worn but should not hide the face. Umbrellas are not permitted!! Elaborate gowns are not encouraged.
  3. Contestants are to be at the stage in Beebe Park at 6:45 pm the night of opening ceremonies, Thursday. They must be dressed and ready to go. Please be sure that your child has had a trip to the bathroom just before you leave. She may stay with you after registration until she is called to the stage.
  4. The girls will parade and be asked simple questions by The Mistress of Ceremonies.
  5. All contestants are invited and encouraged to ride in the Children's Parade on Saturday. The float will be provided by the committee. Parents are responsible for getting their child to the beginning of the parade route and to pick her up immediately after the parade. The parade ends near Carl's Electric.
  6. Little Miss and her court will participate in both the Children's Parade and the Grand Parade on Sunday.
  7. The winner's parents should be prepared to accompany their child to all scheduled events of the weekend. It will be their responsibility to see that their daughter gets to the events on time. A schedule will be provided following the closing of the contest. Good Old Days Festival is not Liable for any injuries incurred.
  8. The Little Miss and court will be given prize money to spend at the carnival grounds over the weekend. They should wear their banners as much as possible during the weekend. Each contestant will receive a small gift the night of the contest. A crown is given to just the Little Miss. The crown awarded by the G.O.D. Committee is the crown that should be worn at all activities she is asked to attend. Only the Little Miss is allowed to wear a crown at Good Old Days events.
  9. The selection of the Little Miss and her court will be done after each contestant has had a chance to answer her question. The Judges will then take the names of the top five scores and put them in a container. Then, One by One, the names will be drawn deciding the Little Miss and her court. The last name drawn will be the new Little Miss. They are all Beautiful and the committee has decided this to be the fairest way. The event is not a competition, but meant to be fun and memorable. They are all winners. All receive a small gift and are encouraged to ride in the Children's Parade on the Float.
